Ah Hell!

I have spent most of the morning, and now into the afternoon, reading about nutrition and our children. In doing so I have found probably the worst article, to me, that I have ever read. 10 fruits and vegetables to buy organic. OMG! Seriously, I gasped just looking over the list, then I read why on each one. I could cry.

This is so good:

Yesterday the kids and I planted seeds of more vegetables and herbs then I ever have grown. I had no problems with growing vegetables in DE, but here, it has been nothing but a struggle. Nothing grows! We planted all the seeds into those little starter cups, and hopefully in a week we will see some growth happening. I am going to have Ron make me some boxes so I can do the square foot gardening, and hopefully this will work. My only concern at this point is the slope my backyard is. Ron insists though this will work though.

My plan this year is too grow as much as I can, or buy it at the farmers market downtown, I plan to be there at least once a week this summer, and freeze or jar as much as possible so that we can have these fresh fruits and vegetables all year long.

Last year we went to the Fruit and Berry Patch a lot, and I still have blueberries and strawberries in my freezer, and a lot of jarred peaches. I am proud of that. This year I want to do even more.

Last night I made Jamie Olivers chicken nuggets for dinner. All 3 of my kids loved them and the boys both told me they were better then Chicken McNuggets from McDonalds. YAY! That is HUGE especially from Andrew who LOVES Chicken McNuggets. I took the opportunity to teach my children the difference between this chicken and that chicken. Processed foods...not good for you, and real food tastes so much better.

More to come....

I'm going to use some JO recipes in my blog and help get the word out about his Food Revolution! Way to start it in your family. We CAN change the destiny of our families-I want my children to live LONGER than me!!!!!!!!!
